Check out my updated video of Alien Tape where we test it on painted surfaces: https://youtu.be/GS6HgvydDL0
Thanks a bunch for doing this review!! What I wanted to use it for was to secure my figurines to the top of the table top, because my rambunctious dogs knock them over, broken two of them. I think this will work for what I need
I tried hanging several pictures that weighed 10lbs ,it work for five minutes, then it fell off the wall. I would not recommend this.
Hey Jeff, Great video! There was one more thing that was claimed in the commercial… That it can be easily removed from surfaces. (i’m sorry if this was already asked) Did you have trouble removing the tape?
ALL in ALL,
You can’t hang another BRICK
On the WALL,
Unless you’ve had
I want some to stick a power strip on the wall to get it off the floor do you think it will work?
I only see this being used in California or earthquake areas. Keep items on shelves. Great review. Thanks.
I just received the 3 tapes today and immediately read the instructions. On the TV commercial they said that the tape sticks on any surface, including brick walls, well I don’t have brick walls but I do have sheet rock walls and that’s precisely that the instructions DO NOT recommend because is not flat and may damage the wall’s paint. The tapes are still unused and I am going to return them after seeing the tests on this video. The distributors are liars. I wouldn’t never again buy from these TV wonder products, they are cheaters.
Hello JEFF, from São Paulo - BRAZIL !!!
That was weird on how they said it won’t damage painted surfaces then it says it does so which is it? Lol
I bought some different brands of Nano tape when it came out. Not on tv but on phone ads.
Stuck some bottled hand soap on tiled bathroom wall. The bottles lasted about 3 weeks before they fell off. Could hardly remove the tape. Had to stretch and peel it off. Washing didn’t restore it as it remained stretched and no longer adhesive.
Just by watching the infomercial I called bs. If you watch it carefully you can see the brick sag down once other brick is put on it. Also the paper towel dispenser everyone knows what a pain those are when you yank down hard trying to o tear off a sheet usually the tube comes right out of the holder. If you watch the infomercial carefully again at that point it seems the paper towel is very easily torn and there is no downward pulling at all… And I’m guessing the address sign etc on the infomercial are all super light plastic…. And the kid in the high chair… Hmm would a kid that big really be in a high chair or did they use a kid bug enough to tell him to make it look like he was holding the bowl when he was actually just rocking the high chair tray around it… A lot can be seen in the false advertising of products if you just pay attention. Also the guy who does the infomercial says “you’ll love it” but sounds more like " you’ll love AT"just the annoyance of that is enough to turn people away lol
THanks! My husband saw this on TV and wondered if it would work for hanging pictures. Your review was just what we needed!
It does not work. Everything has fallen off the wall. Didn’t even weigh 1/2 lbs. Really… a dud
I would like to see what residue is left if you took the picture off the painted wall.
Nice job, very thorough analysis. One thing that I have found helps washable adhesive is to actually use a bit of dish soap or baby wash when cleaning it. Some car windshield suction mounts are similar. Thanks for the info, saw the infomercial and glad I found your channel.
Junk. I saw it on tv. That one person said he got ripped off $41 for three roles he must have ordered it from television. Don’t buy it.
Another great review. A little expensive for not living up to the hype. Market is saturated with better product at a better price
This is what miss corona V. brought me too 😂
Cool video anyway 🤘
Practical application of bricks on a wall… Strange times we are in… Lol
Thanks Jeff we need people like you to test things out and see if it’s worth buying
Thank you Jeffreviews, I am returning the “Alien Tape.”
I don’t trust it. Maybe on smaller items. It would be good for command tapes. And Would like it to hold pictures and mirrors. I would be afraid to put a picture or mirror up thinking that it might fall in a couple days. Thank you
Thank you for doing the test for us. This for me mean it’s not 100%.
I agree with you on this tape it would have it to use for certain things
Thanks for the great review
It concerns me that it “holds strong” yet you can remove it…uh…if it holds strong…how can you remove it?
Stuff is junk the bald guy tested it Maore thoroughly than you did and every one of his test and failed
I’ll bet it does more damage when you take it off the wall then a screw hole
Thanks for the test I was Going to purchase it but I don’t think so thank you for the test
i thank you for doing this review im was going to order it. i need it for a rug. and to hold some keys on a wall.
It may hold a few minutes but so will a lot of things. How about a year?
What about using as a adhesive to affix a rug to a wood floor?
Thamk You …
. I think I’ll skip this 1….
You made a mistake with the brick test. In the commercial, if you look closely, it’s not a real brick. The surface of the “brick” is too smooth to be a real brick. Also a slightly different color than a brick.
Use .CA glue on your squishy hanger that way if you ever move the next people have a squishy hook in their shower.
Quick tip: you SHOULD have placed the weight on the refrigerator with the tape facing PARALLEL to the ground. That way there’s more contact surface fighting the force of gravity, which is also relatively parallel to the ground. I believe the weights would’ve lasted longer this way.
I can’t get the double side. Only sticks on one side. Can’t peel the film of the other side. 20.00 down the drain
You need to do a long term testing. Leave it up for several days. I hinge a picture on the wall about 3 lbs lasted 3days before it fell
3m two sided tape, gorilla two-sided tape is the same thing but probably better
Looks like it does have some great uses. I wonder how it might hold rugs on hardwood floors.
Did you do a different review video where you applied pressure for 30 seconds? Curious if that made a difference.
The room I have my room in has brick walls the tape does not always hold. It does have a tendency to get warm in my room and I think this causes the tape to come off. I have hung light things on this tape and eventually the item falls off. I am not impressed with this tape at all. It doesn’t even hold up well on painted walls save your money folks and find another route..
Send it back to it’s planet maybe it will work there!
Thanks for your test. I was going to buy it but, your video had more “life” examples.
Your awesome, thanks for the demo! Wouldn’t waste my money on this stuff!
Great review Jeff! Never heard of alien tape need to look for it. Happy Easter and stay safe!
Thanks Jeff! I’ve got a lot of picture frames that I was wondering if this tape would work for. I think I’ll try it!
Love the channel and energy Sub
So did you ever remove your picture off the wall to see if it removed the drywall paint?
It works so well it tore off a big chunk of my wall
No tape ever made, will hold a lot of weight
…
Have you tried heating the tape a little after washing?
I bought it cause it looked cool! Seriously no other reason. I put it on my inside rug and so far it has held up, but i have an extra acoustic guitar and i made a perfect square surrounding the back of my guitar and i taped it to the wall above my headboard. 5 days later i was woken up with a huge bong and a knot on my head from my guitar falling on my head.
I give it a BIG THUMBS DOWN!!!
Good review but didn’t it say to press for 30 seconds?
Glad you figured out the tape wasn’t flat on the weight, cause it was bothering me.
Anything from as seen on tv is scam
Thank you for this.
I just used it to hang light curtains and they fell down
Nice review. Did the company respond regarding using on painted surfaces? Do you think it is the same company as Nano tape?
Jeff. You also have to be realistic. I would never use any tape that says it will support 15 lbs or more. I also believe you can reuse the tape for light applications such as what you did in the shower or a light picture or holding the bottle in place upright. Re-using the tape is like re-using foodsaver bags. The 1st use of foodsaver bags does a great job of sealing your food, the 2nd time using the same bag, Not as good but sometimes acceptable. The 3rd time would be a waste of time.
Yea, go ahead and trust this tape to hold a very expensive art picture on the wall .
Thanks for reviewing. Very helpful.
I think it’s pretty awesome I think the tape works great
Hey Jeff-
Love you and ur videos. Your a cool dude. Thanks for the info. I think ima pass on the tape. Thanks to you. 🙊🙊
You had the clothes pin left on
Use Alien Tape in your car for backseat entertainment.
Do a flex paste review
Scam lol
Using a brick was a pretty dumb idea… tape doesnt stick very well to bricks but tape does stick well to finished metal plates.
Not sure what’d I use it for
It does leave a residue, it wasn’t sent in its original packaging, couldn’t even hold up light weight curtain for a few minutes, and yes paint came off when it came close from wall
Great review!!
Can this be used on a car dashboard? I need something to hold my phone mount.
Thanks for the great review. :) Do you think this would work for an indoor security camera that weighs 0.47 lbs (215g)? I don’t want to drill holes for the anchors for the screws since I might move them later, etc. :)
Using this tape made by aliens I sawed this space ship in half and sealed it with only alien tape, as you can see the entire crew is suffocating.
please try to re-do all testing but in a Vertical manner not Horizontally to hold weights or bricks.
We will see if it holds at least 10 minutes or more.
Thanks
So…can I use it to remove pet hair from auto upholstery , wash it off and reuse it?
I didn’t even get a return package slip nor did I get a receipt. They charged me 41.00 for 3 rolls
Great review I would be more curious as to how long the weights would hold on the fridge using like you describe flat weights
If it sounds too good to be true, it is.
I like that at least it works for more practical things. 🤙
How will it hold up to the heat of the sun on a window. Does it stick better to flat surfaces other than rough or uneven?
That stuff is garbage. Don’t waste you’re money on garbage.
Isn’t it me or doesn’t this guy sound like Joe Swanson from Family Guy
I wish they sold 1 roll for $7 or so. 3/$20 is a overkill for what I need…the product looks promising though.
Seriously?? You did not apply the tape properly! You put it across a recessed surface and only adhered approx 50% of the tapes surface on the weights. Of course it failed. Very poorly done.
Your awesome bro. Thanks to you I bought it. ^_^ building agreen house with it. … thank you so much. For a real. Review
This guy sounds like he’s from radio…
or narrator for a living
.???
🤔🤔🤔
Your 90’s spike hair will come be back in style in 10 years.. ride it out my bro.. ride it out
J’ai achetée et n’est rien reçu encore.
You never showed what would happen if you took the tape off the wall or the tile or the table to show us that there was no damage because of the tape. That was the important part of the review that we were looking for.
i knew it was a scam
Great review Jeff
👍😃👍
I didn’t believe in this stuff at first. But I was honestly surprised it held up at all with the way you taped it to those weights and bricks horizontally. In their defense, in the commercial they placed more strips in a vertical position. Also those weights have a lot of gaps that don’t have flat contact. I think you should redo this test with the strips verticle. even try wrapping the tape around the circumference of the weights. More contact area would be key. I think it will greatly increase the longevity of the adhesion. That’s the way the Commander stuff works.
Just like sticky hands toy wash with mild soap thoroughly then rinse all soap off then would try to re-use. (Mild soap e.g. dawn dish soap contains phosphate which over time will harden plastics and enamels.)
How come when you did the weights it looked like there was a bunch of cuts?
Is nano tape better?
You are too sexy
In all of reviews I’ve watched, people don’t use this tape in the right way. It’s not efficient to stick objects horizontally. The proper method is to put the tape (or objects) vertically so the holding against gravity is optimal. Like if you want to stick a shelf without drilling and screwing, you can put some tape on the face that will front the wall, but most importantly, use brackets and put tape on them, or it wont stay. It’s all about physics.
How heavy it the table you stuck the bottle on?
With the weights on the fridge, if it has been a single 17 pound weight, it probably would have held much longer.
When you used the multiple weights, each weight is adding more pressure in a downward motion from the top of the first weight on the fridge. So, it is similar to someone applying downward pressure to the last weight you added. A single weight would have an evenly distributed gravitational pull. It seems like a pretty good product, but likely one you would have to literally create uses for to justify the cost.
Yea, go ahead and trust this tape to hold a very expensive art picture on the wall .
The weights in the commercial were flat. It is clear that in your test that only a small % of the tape was contacting both surfaces, as your weights are not flat. Not a valid test, though I suspect the results might not be much better with flat weights. With “As Seen On TV “, it is guilty until proven innocent. If it worked well all the big box stores would carry it.
I definitely wouldn’t trust it to hold my iPad
I just saw commercial for this tape and then read reviews, like I do with everything sold on T.V. Reading many of the same comments through the reviews from others, If it’s good to use on painted surfaces and drywall why does the instructions say do not use on painted surfaces?
WOW JUST SAW THE COMMERCIAL ON tv OF ALIEN TAPE AND YOU WERE GREAT IN SHOWING ALL THE CHOICES AND HOW TO SELECT WHICH WOULD BE GOOD IN USING PRODUCT!!
I JUST SUBSCRIBED BECAUSE OT THE THOROUGHNESS OF YOUR REVIEW!…THANKS!
…ooops sorry about caps lock.
Your mom’s gonna be mad when she sees the crack in the floor in front of the refrigerator
Just the fact that it said on the box that you can use it on sheetrock and inside the box it said not to tells me all I want to know. Multiple people on Amazon have pics posted of damaged walls. This was just on my TV showing wall applications, so I decided to check it out. I don’t really care what it might do, as clearly it is being promoted falsely already. Would like to have seen you remove the picture from the wall.
No surprise! Everything that is sold on TV sucks!
I could tell before reading the reviews there was something wrong. It doesn’t show taking it of the wall. That was a red flag specialy for people who rent.
When you remove the pictures on the wall does the paint come off the wall with the tape? If so that would take a wall fix up if you were moving?
I believe when they did the bricks their was maybe a total of two or three ..
Dude you’re the first man ive seen that uses a loofah😆
You look like guy fieris brother. He’s the guy
On diners drive inns and dives
Easy to remove? Or does it leave a sticky mess?
After months of having this, is this worth $20?
So alien tape must be made in Mexico
We tried Alien tape at work for 16 x 20 art canvasses, most with just paint and markers. Alien tape didn’t last 24 hours, and the art all fell down. It might work for a short time, but not a good product, and certainly not what they are advertising.
My hobby includes doing experiments all the time. You’re pretty good, but not entirely correct in your approach(basically, you use too many variables, and need more thinking.)
Wonder if this will hold command hooks on the ceiling. I’ve been using command strips to hold up the curtains in my apartment, and recently all the command strips are falling down and no matter how many times I clean the ceiling and restick them they will not stay. Hoping this will be a solution to my problem!
A very fair review. As you have acknowledge, the bricks was not a good demonstration because the brick has brick dust. You can see how dirty the tape was after the bricks fell. So in essence, they were sticking on the the dust rather than the bricks. Use something non-porous next time, e.g. something made of smooth plastic or metal, with no gaps.
